The university library offers diverse scholarly resources to support the university community in research and lifelong learning. Our collection development emphasizes digital subscriptions and acquisitions while maintaining our physical collections.
Collection objectives:
- To support courses and programs offered by the university; and
- To facilitate research in online and distance learning.
Research databases. Through the UP system, UPOU Library subscribes to 25 research databases, providing access to full text eBooks, journal articles, videos, art, and more. We also curate and provide links to recommended open educational resource (OER) databases relevant to OU research and study.
Continuing resources. Access print and full text online scholarly journals, open access periodicals, electronic newspapers, and magazines through the university library.
Books and eBooks. UPOU Library’s collection includes thousands of books and eBooks selected to support courses and programs, both subscription-based and faculty-recommended purchases. Our print collection, exceeding 10,000 volumes, is accessible by visiting the library or through our delivery service.
Audiovisual materials. The university library offers a collection of streaming audiovisual materials and maintains a physical collection of DVD and CD course materials that students may borrow.
Theses, Dissertations, and ETD Collections. Our collection includes both print and electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) from students and faculty. Access detailed research findings through our digital repository or browse physical copies available in the library.

Open Educational Resources. The university library also provides institutionally produced open educational resources that are accessible to the public.
